Video footage showed people killed and injured in the city of Latakia after gunfire targeted a gathering of protesters on Tuesday. Initial reports indicated that at least one person was killed and a number of others were wounded. Reports conflicted over the source of the gunfire that targeted the protesters, with local sources saying that members of the Public Security forces opened fire to disperse the demonstration, while other sources said the gunfire came from people gathered in a march supporting the Syrian government, at the same time as protests opposing it.
