The Ramadan 2026 drama season will see the return of Syrian actresses who have been absent from the screen for many years, with some away for more than 14 years, as they come back in social, political, comedic, and youth-oriented productions.
Taj Haidar
Syrian actress Taj Haidar is returning to Syrian drama in the Ramadan 2026 season after many years away, through the series “Ana wa Hiya wa Heya,” alongside Basel Khayyat.
News of Haidar’s return sparked widespread interest among her fans and admirers, amid strong anticipation for her performance in this contemporary social drama.
Sulafa Owaisheq
Syrian actress Sulafa Owaisheq returns to the screen this season with two appearances, moving between comedy and social drama. She appears in the series “Bint al-Numan” as “Umm Saeed,” one of the central characters in the comedy, drawing on her strong comic sensibility to add a distinctive touch to the production.
In social drama, Owaisheq also appears in the series “Mawlana” alongside Tim Hassan and Fares Al-Helou, in a new experience expected to leave a clear mark on her artistic career.
Yara Sabri
Actress Yara Sabri is making a strong return to Syrian drama after nearly 14 years away, through three different productions in the Ramadan 2026 season. She appears in the series “Al-Suriyoun Al-Aadaa,” directed by Al-Laith Hajo, portraying “Umm Suleiman,” a strong woman in her village, a woman of conviction and principle who does not break under pressure, in a role with clear social and political dimensions.
In a production aimed at younger audiences, the actress also takes part in the series “Al-Maqad Al-Akhir” as “Hanaa,” the school principal, presenting a new human story that touches on contemporary educational and social issues.
She also appears in comedy through the series “Lobby Al-Gharam,” alongside Moatasem Al-Nahar and Pamela Al-Kik, with Jessie Abdo, Safaa Sultan, Fayez Qazaq, Jirjis Jabbara, Ayman Abdel Salam, and Tatiana Merheb also taking part.
Waha Al-Raheb
After years away, actress Waha Al-Raheb returns to Ramadan drama through the series “Al-Khuruj Ila Al-Bi’r,” alongside a group of leading Syrian drama stars headed by Jamal Suleiman. The production focuses on documenting difficult moments from the first decade of the second millennium, especially those related to Sednaya Prison, within a socio-political dramatic framework based on a documentary-style approach to events.
Reem Ali
For the first time after an absence of a decade and a half, actress Reem Ali is making a special return by filming once again inside Syria, through her participation in the series “Al-Suriyoun Al-Aadaa,” under the direction of Al-Laith Hajo, where she presents a character different from what audiences are used to seeing from her in previous works.
Lina Diab
Actress Lina Diab appears in the Ramadan 2026 season in two drama productions after a long absence. She is taking part in the series “Ailet Al-Malik,” directed by Mohammad Abdel Aziz, in a contemporary social story full of suspense, in addition to her participation in the series “Al-Yateem,” which belongs to the Damascene period-drama genre, telling a gripping story starring Samer Ismail and directed by Tamer Ishaq.
